Hypertension “A Silent Killer”

 

Hypertension is a Non-Communicable Disease or NCD and refers to an individual with abnormally high blood pressure. 

Hypertension increases the risk of:

  • Stroke
  • Acute Heart Failure
  • Coronary Artery Disease
  • Diabetes
  •  Paralysis
  • Kidney Failure

Warning Signs

  • Upon waking up in the morning you experience dizziness or blurriness
  • Frequent acute headaches
  • Frequent nose bleeds
  • Easily fatigued, nauseous, heart palpitations, and vomiting  

The best way to avoid or lower hypertension is life style adjustment such as reduce intake of salty foods and alcohol, quit smoking, getting regular exercise, and an annual health check-up.
