The AFC Football Emergency Medicine and Doping Course organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and hosted by the The Football Association of Thailand (FA Thailand) and Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) shall be held from 23 – 26 November 2024.
The course aims to provide insights into the latest medical development specific to football, as well as facilitate the exchange of expertise, opinions and address common questions and inquiries.
The course is divided into two segments: the theoretical sessions which includes lectures on the latest advancements in emergency medicine in football, and the practical segment which focuses on hands-on training of participants on the management of urgent medical cases on-and-of the pitch and anti- doping matters from prevention to detection.
The course will feature several experts and specialists in sports medicine, including notable lecturers such as Dato Dr Gurcharan Singh and Prof. Michiko Dohi, Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Medical Committee of the Asian Football Confederation respectively, along with Dr. Paisal Chantarapitak, Dr. Fenton De Souza, Dr. Randolph Molo, Dr. Rachvind Sra and Dr. Pakapon Issaragrisil who will present key cases and discuss major inquiries.
The course in Bangkok is the 2nd leg in the region being first is held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for West Region Member Association from 27 – 30 May 2024.
The first AFC Football Emergency Medicine and Anti-Doping Course for ASEAN and East Region was conducted in 2017 hosted by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF).
The course was attended by eleven (11) AFC Member Associations from ASEAN Region and nine (9) Member Associations from East Region.
